Harriet Tubman was one of the heroes this world has ever known. She didn’t want to be the only slave to be free, and that’s why she did what she did. Her impact in the world changed the way a lot of people think about slavery. Harriet Tubman was a Civil War spy and led many people through the route of the Underground Railroad.

Harriet's Background

Harriet Tubman has a very interesting background. In fact her birth name was Araminta Ross, and then she stole her mother’s name Harriet Ross “harriet tubman biography.” Her parent’s names were Harriet Ross, and Benjamin Ross. Tubman was born in 1822. Also, as a slave Harriet worked as a nurse, maid, field hand, cook, and a woodcutter “Harriet Tubman Biography.” When she grew up Harriet married John Tubman a free slave in 1844 “harriet tubman biography.” She also escaped to freedom in 1849.

Harriet's Fame

Harriet Tubman is famous for many reasons. She is famous because she made the Underground Railroad as she was running for freedom “Harriet Tubman.” Additionally it took Harriet ten days to make the Underground Railroad “African American History.” Tubman led over a thousand slaves through the Underground Railroad to the freedom states such as the Philadelphia. Harriet became the most famous railroad conductor she was also known as the “Moses of her People.”

Harriet Impact in the World

Harriet Tubman has changed the world I many ways. It took Tubman about twenty trips to free all of those slaves. For instance while she was saving them she didn’t lose a single passenger. She carried a weapon and threatens to kill anyone who tries to go back. She saved even more slaves when she was a spy in the Civil War. After the Civil War she gathered orphans and the elderly and led tem to what she called the “Harriet Tubman Home for Indigent Aged Negroes.

Harriet’s people admired her for her bravery and courage. She passed away in March 10, 1913 at the age of 92. The cause of her death was pneumonia. When she was twelve Harriet’s owner hit her in the head with a two pound weight and almost died, because of this se started having terrible nightmares. She believed it was God was telling her something and this led her to free slaves. Harriet Tubman will be remembered about what se did in the world.
